William L. Robbins

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Robbins has 25 years of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry experience as an entrepreneur, start-up executive, business development and marketing manager, and venture investor. Mr. Robbins co-founded Calisra Biotech, LLC, a biotech development company, and founded Convergent Ventures, LLC, a seed-stage venture investment company. Mr. Robbins co-founded a portfolio of life-science spin-out companies from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Mr. Robbins’ international business experience includes Europe, Israel, Canada, and Japan.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Robbins served as VP, Business Development, at Bio-Imaging Technologies, Inc., a medical imaging and clinical research services company that went public during his tenure. Previously, he held marketing and new product development positions at Warner-Lambert Company, in New Jersey, and account management positions at Grey Medical Advertising, in New York.

Mr. Robbins’ background in drug development and commercialization spans the continuum from discovery through pre-clinical development, clinical development, and marketing, and includes most major therapeutic areas, such as cardiovascular, CNS, inflammatory and metabolic diseases, and oncology.

Mr. Robbins earned his M.B.A. in marketing at Columbia Business School and his A.B. in psychology, modified with biology, at Dartmouth College.

Mr. Robbins is the author of Seed-Stage Venture Investing: The Ins and Outs for Entrepreneurs, Start-ups, and Investors on Successfully Starting a New Business.
